Support, Programs and Education
Epilepsy is a major health problem, affecting approximately
1 in 50 children and 1 in 100 adults. The Epilepsy Alliance
of Orange County, a project of Community Partners, would
like you to know we are here to help. Our programs are listed
below.
For more information, please email info@epilepsyalliance.org or call (714) 557-0202.
Diastat training for school employees, caregivers, parents...
Your child's caregivers and teachers should know how to administer Diastat in case your child needs this medication during school hours. Nurses are NOT the only ones who can administer this life-saving medication.
The Epilepsy Alliance (EAOC) has been working closely with the
OC Department of Education toward a solution to the "Nurses only" myth. We now offer a comprehensive hands-on Diastat training workshop to any school interested in having their staff trained.
Don't take no for an answer. Bring this flyer to your school so that your child's medical and educational needs can be met ANYTIME - not just when a nurse is available.
